Program Description
“Aleta applies an impeccable work ethic, intense enthusiasm, and an extraordinary level of perfectionism to all of her endeavors”
“Aleta is patient, understanding and thorough with even our most challenging students.”
ART AND NATURE uses color, sound and movement to link learning. Nature themes studied in Listening and Learning Domains (Plants; Animals and Habitats; Seasons, Weather and Cycles of Nature; Astronomy; Insects and Taking Care of Earth) provide the subject matter for visual art projects in collage and paper sculpture. Virtual programs will show easy tricks for cutting and layering simple shapes. Additional resource material will be included. Projects are tailored specifically to each primary grade level.
Longer programs and residencies will be available again in our future. A range of art media will be available when in-school programs return.
Aleta Wynn Yarrow has collaborated with 8 museums to design interdisciplinary arts programs. She has presented at conferences for Museum Association of New York, and Art Teacher Associations in New York and Pennsylvania. She has been the visual artist for projects funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the US Department of Education.
