Program Theme

Northeastern Native American cultures, histories and traditions through my writing and storytelling or workshop programs in which students write their own poems and stories and/or do their own storytelling. Also, themes of respect for one’s self and others, conflict resolution, and character development are built into all of my presentations.

Program Description

My school visits vary depending on what the sponsor needs. For school programs, I usually incorporate storytelling, Native American music, and some discussion of my work. Programs are geared to grade level and include Q&A at the end to a greater or lesser degree depending on grade level. Workshops to generate writing and/or storytelling are structured for maximum student participation. For adult audiences, I again can offer a variety of programs, from lectures to musical and/or storytelling concerts. Further, I offer programs in the history and stories of the Adirondacks, tall tales, stories of the days of logging, etc.
