Costs

On-the-Go! tours range from $1,000 to $1,200. Each production varies with unlimited student attendance possible.

Student Matinees are $12 a student. For every 15 students, one complimentary adult ticket is provided.

Financial aid available, also contact local BOCES for funding opportunities.

Program Description

Student Matinees: Each season, theREP offers full quality productions during the school day complete with a post-show question and answer session with cast members.

On-the-Go!: We bring the show to you! A fully realized, portable, professional theatre production that,

– can be performed in any space
– eliminates bus costs, travel time and logistical concerns
– maximizes the effectiveness of arts in education dollars
– provides schools with unlimited attendance
– includes a post-show talkback with the actors

2019 Season of On-The-Go! School Tour Programs

A Friend of A Friend: Tales of The Underground Railroad

Tour Dates: February 25 – March 15, 2019

This original docu-play, developed by theREP, used New York State archival documents to bring to life the impact of the Fugitive Slave Act in the Capital Region. The story tells of the intense moral struggles of several local people, including former slave Solomon Northup and Albany’s Harriet and Stephen Myers, who produced an anti-slavery newspaper and risked their freedom to be conductors on the Underground Railroad.

Run time: 45 minutes + 15-minute talk-back
