Program Description
The DON'T WAIT Project®, founded by Lisa Bradshaw, is a 501c3 non-profit organization, partnering with filmmaker, educator and UnMake a Bully creator Mike Feurstein. Since 2012, our DON’T WAIT to UnMake programs have produced 100s of PSAs with more than 10,000 students, grades 4-12, and also produced educational content for TEDx. In these times of remote learning, we have created a virtual version of our program that still provides students with the opportunity to write, produce, direct and film their own PSA. It combines our mediasphere program, already implemented in several school districts throughout the country, with breakaway sessions to get them up and moving, exercising their brains and their bodies while continuing our ongoing commitment to lessons in character development, anti-bullying education and media responsibility. The program creates an opportunity for students to connect with each other while engaging in a stimulating and lesson-filled program supplemental to their usual online or in-person curriculum. When complete, students share their PSA via a group-wide, virtual premiere and celebrate their unique experience in film production.
