Program Theme

Recruit musicians to the orchestra, band or choir programs and retain current musicians by injecting a high voltage dose of energy into a school’s music education program.

Program Description

Electrify Your Symphony (EYS) is a music education phenomenon that FIRES UP students, teachers, and local communities. This intensive experience boosts student self-esteem and motivation, and increases school-wide, family and community engagement. By incorporating technology, improvising and American Styles, we bring music education to a new level of 21st century thinking. EYS was created by international recording artist, Trans Siberian Orchestra original member, electric violinist, and music education advocate Mark Wood. Mark Wood is Juillard trained and was mentored by Leonard Bernstein at the Tanglewood Music Festival. He is an Emmy winning composer, and has toured with Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Kanye West and many others. The true leader in his field, Mark and his group of Artist Mentors introduce your students to a whole new world of orchestra, band and choir and give them a life-changing experience they never forget! EYS changes their perception of what their instruments are capable of and enlightens them as to how they can access and express their creativity through them. In our 1-day, the day includes 4 hours of workshop/rehearsal time followed by an evening (or afternoon) concert. The workshop/rehearsal portion focuses on rehearsing the rock inspired material we’ve provided to you; encouraging students to relate to the music as more than simple dots on the page; and teaching performance techniques – how to connect with the audience, and most importantly how to access their own creative potential. In our 2-day program, day 1 includes 5 hours of workshop/rehearsal time and day 2 includes 3 hours for dress rehearsal followed by an evening or afternoon concert. This program has been featured on The Today Show, CBS Evening News, and many other media outlets.
