Program Description
Circus Minimus – The One-Man Circus in-a-Suitcase. Former Big Apple Circus instructor Kevin O’Keefe delights and inspires assembly audiences (pre-K-8) to practice compassion and follow their dreams. An entire cast of circus characters emerges from one small suitcase. However, the most important performers come from the audience. Each show is a dialogue between the audience and the characters – a lighthearted collaboration.
Circus Around the World is an interdisciplinary curricular experience for elementary school children Grades K-8*. Classes choose one country and one circus art (i.e. tumbling, juggling, clowning, partner acrobatics, balancing, etc.). Students study countries through the theme of circus. The residency ends with a joyous final performance. A videotape is available.
CircusYoga is an imaginative, fun-filled experience for the whole community designed to strengthen self-confidence, focus, trust, and teamwork. CircusYoga combines the consciousness of yoga with the communal ceremony of the circus. Parents, teachers, and kids learn, grow, and experience: Yoga, Partner Acrobatics, Juggling, Clowning & Physical Comedy; Flying Partner Yoga, Group Story-Creation, Creative Movement & Dance.
