Program Theme

How music and story are related, and how they continue to matter to audiences throughout the centuries.

Program Description

Experience an evening in a medieval castle. Dinner is over, and everyone is gathered around the great fireplace. The torches on the walls are burning, and the evening stretches ahead. It is time for the traveling troubadour harpist to weave a magic tale punctuated with tunes both familiar and not-so-familiar. Along the way, also the story of how music saved Richard the Lion Heart and helped get home from the Crusades to rescue England from his bad brother John!
