Program Description

Who Will Roar If I Go? – Book 1 in the If We’re Gone series published June 2018 by BQB Press.
As a local author, I am excited about the opportunity to visit area schools and connect students to the research and writing experience. Our stunningly illustrated book captivates children and when I read, I arrive with an ePub version for a whiteboard or LCD projection screen. This makes the animals come to life. I able to discount local school visits as there are no travel expenses.

I have read and talked with students at all elementary levels about: my book; endangered animals; poaching; and spring boarding into “Inquiry based learning” about what we can do to help endangered species. A school visit includes 3- 1 hour interactive presentation which includes: Reading the book; the power of vocabulary; research and writing stories; an inter-active brainstorming text example – (modeling how to write creatively), and story time about endangered animals. Book signing available, if pre-orders are sold.

Pre-visit activities: I send participating schools learning activities designed to build prior knowledge– connecting the visit.
Post-visit classroom and library activities include research and writing ideas.
I do not recommend reading the book ahead of time, but rather talking or researching about endangered wildlife instead. This makes the Q & A time more interactive and participatory.
