Curious George and the Golden Meatball
Join Curious George, the inquisitive, lovable monkey-star of books, movies and the award-winning PBS television show in a brand new musical. Curious George: The Golden Meatball TYA is a loveable adventure, specifically designed for young audiences, that is sure to leave them singing and swinging down the aisles.
All You-Can-Eat Meatball Day came just once a year. George had been waiting all month for that day, a day almost bigger than his birthday! On Meatball Day, George helped his friend, Chef Pisghetti, cook some delicious meatballs and serve them to the hungry crowd. But this year, the crowd had vanished! Something was keeping people away… something pretty big. And that something was Phinneas T. Lightspeed and his speedy Meatballs-o-Matic machine. In despair, Chef Pisghetti vows to cook no more. Determined to help his friend, George goes on a mission to enter the Chef’s meatballs in the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest in Rome.
With every swing and flip, George takes the audience through a fun-filled adventure, in which he learns more about Rome… and meatballs… and the secret ingredient to cooking!
Dear Edwina is a heartwarming musical about the joys of growing up. The show’s heroine is an advice-giver extraordinaire, like a spunky, singing version of Dear Abby. Sweet, smart and tuneful, Dear Edwina appeals to audiences of all ages.
Thirteen-year-old Edwina Spoonapple would do just about anything to be a part of the Kalamazoo Advice-a-Palooza Festival. While her siblings both have proof of their accomplishments, poor Edwina has nothing. When a talent scout from the convention visits her hometown, she trots out her musical advice, giving shows live from the family garage in hopes of finding her place in the spotlight. She is assisted by her older siblings, quirky friends and neighbors. Together, they set out to tackle the world’s problems in number after hysterical number about everything from birthday party etiquette to proper table settings.

These productions are appropriate for grades Pre K-5. In 2020-2021, our high quality educational musicals are available for on demand streaming, directly into your classrooms school wide.
One month before the performance, we will provide your educators with an activity packet designed to engage students in the creative process behind bringing a show to life on stage and introduce students to the core themes of the productions!
Introducing students to live theatre gives them an important audience experience, helping them to learn the proper etiquette for live performances and public presentations. It also introduces them to a hobby and craft they may not have had access to previously. The arts teach collaboration, creative problem solving and self-expression, and our program gives students a taste of what is possible in the arts. The Park Playhouse Scholastic Touring program allows you to introduce your students to the performing arts in a low-cost way, without the need for bussing and field trip arrangements.
